Welcome to the homepage of the Twin Pine Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, United States Air Force Auxiliary. CAP is a nonprofit organization with more than 55,000 members nationwide. It was founded on Dec. 1, 1941, less than a week before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor brought the U.S. into World War II. Today, CAP performs 90 percent of inland search and rescue missions, as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, and was credited by the AFRCC with saving 103 lives in 2007. Its volunteers also perform homeland security, disaster relief and counterdrug missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. Members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to the more than 22,000 young people currently participating in the CAP Cadet Program. Please browse our website and come visit us or email us to learn more about the Twin Pine Squadron and Civil Air Patrol.

Safety

Safety is the driving force behind everything that the Civil Air Patrol does. Every event must have a designated safety officer. Nothing is conducted without operational risk management. Each and every member regardless of age is authorized to call a halt to anything if he or she considers it to be unsafe. In all of our training, we emphasize situational awareness, which ties in with the motto of the Civil Air Patrol, which is "Semper Vigilans," or "Always Vigilant."
